Hello, again. It has been another couple of busy weeks for Untangling the Knot: Queer Voices on Marriage, Relationships & Identity. The summer session is short, and there are many details that need to be handled before fall term begins, so the project team is hard at work to make sure everything is on track for the busy time ahead.
One project that is taking a great deal of time is the social media audit. In order to make sure that we are able to help our contributors gain the greatest possible visibility for themselves, and therefore for Untangling the Knot, we are collecting information about their current social media presence. This way, when it is time to promote the book, we can help any authors that are active on social media to spread the word about the title. With twenty-six contributors, this is a big undertaking indeed.
In addition, the final edits are taking place on each piece. Once the contributors sign off on these final edits, the entire manuscript will be type coded and assigned to an interior designer, bringing the anthology that much closer to printing.
The majority of the team’s attention for the last week has been focused on one large task: the completion of sales kits. The sales kits provide an overview of the details about the book and are sent to Ingram Publishing Services reps who will then use the kits to generate awareness of the upcoming title.
The coming weeks will be focused on final details about the anthology’s production. As the summer carries on, the project is gaining momentum toward the final goal—a beautiful new anthology to add to Ooligan’s list.
