Coming into our fourth week of the project, we’ve accomplished a lot of collective brainstorming. The conclusion that we’ve come to is that this is a project that is part of a larger community and conversation, and we want our voice to be heard in that community–and not just for this particular book, of course, but for all of CALYX’s past and future releases. Consequently, we’ve looked into opportunities to engage with other feminist organizations and societies while we simultaneously work to produce the anthology. Rallying the troops, if you will.

While we continue to look to help CALYX Press make an impact on the issue of gender equality in literature, we are still working with our latest release, The Wax Bullet War, a book that also looks to be a part of a larger conversation concerning returning veterans experiencing PTSD, and promoting it for the upcoming Veteran’s Day on Nov 11th. He will be reading from his memoir along with other veteran writers at Reading Frenzy on that day at 7 p.m.
