As the editors at CALYX continue to make their selections for the anthology (we now have 3 authors locked in!), here at Ooligan we are finishing up the first draft of our marketing plan. The ideas that we’ve been generating these first few weeks have been very exciting, and we’re all eager to get started putting them into motion. Remaining patient has been a struggle, as we all want to start getting this project up and running.

In the meantime, we are actively promoting the reading event for author Sean Davis and some of his fellow veterans! This is the final event that we will be helping Sean publicize, and while I’m sad to see an end to my participation on this title, I know that there is still a lot to come from Sean. The event will take place Veteran’s Day, November 11, at Reading Frenzy.

And finally, we have been asked to take on a side project that involves our Croatian literary titles. These titles include Do Angel’s Cry?; The Survival List; Zagreb, Exit South; and American Scream. All were previously published in Croatia by different authors and were written in various styles ranging from palindrome verse to personal essay. They were translated and published by Ooligan Press from 2005 to 2008 and have a very specific niche market that we will be looking into, including university courses and national Croat ex-pat communities.
