From Knowledge to Power: The Comprehensive Handbook to Climate Science and Advocacy is set to launch on November 30, 2021.

The project team is busier than ever as we enter the season of our book launch. At Ooligan, we’ve welcomed dozens of new students to the press, which means that we have assembled a new project team. These new additions at Ooligan come with valuable insights, and we’ve assembled a great team. Due to the pandemic, we’ve experienced a few hiccups in the production process, but that did not waiver us. The team is very excited to present this book to everyone. For the past couple of months, the team has worked diligently on various materials, including the press kit and social media content. We sent out our press kits in the hope that media outlets will take an interest in the book and further promote it within their communities. In the coming weeks, the team will be posting flyers around the PSU campus and nearby coffee shops. We will also be continuing our promotional efforts and working towards finalizing event details.

Join us for our book launch on November 30, 2021, at 6 p.m. at the Lucky Labrador on NW Quimby. You can attend in person or stream the book launch via Zoom. For more details, follow our social media accounts @ooliganpress. The venue is located at a brewery, and we think it’s the perfect environment to discuss Dr. John Perona’s book and climate advocacy efforts.

The event will contain traditional activities such as a discussion with the co-facilitator, an author Q&A, raffle prizes, and a lot of interaction with the author. We’ll raffle off a copy of the book and other eco-friendly collateral. The co-facilitator, KB Mercer, is an actor by profession and an active climate change community advocate. KB Mercer will have a conversation with Dr. Perona about the book and further engage with the audience. Due to her profession and passion for climate change advocacy, she’s the perfect co-facilitator to interact with John and the audience.

We’re very excited for this book launch because it will be the first one in over a year to be held in person. For weeks we have thought about how to conduct the launch, and we closely monitored several factors to ensure that we could have a book launch that’s spatially friendly yet interactive. We hope that the option to stream the event via Zoom will attract people who are unable to attend in person. Even though the event will be in person, the virtual streaming will be just as interactive.

Check out John Perona’s website, From Knowledge to Power, for more information about the book, to pre-order a copy, learn climate advocacy tips, and find educational resources regarding climate change. John’s website is a great resource for climate advocates.

This book has been in the works for a while now, and we’re excited to see the production process complete. Stay tuned in to Ooligan Press social media as we post more updates and details about the event. We hope to see you at the book launch, whether that’s in person or via Zoom!
